We’re happy to inform you that Broad Meadow wildfl We’re happy to inform you that Broad Meadow wildflower installation @broadmeadowbristol on Merchant Street South has now been repositioned and is back to inviting passers-by to sit down, have a rest, enjoy the plants and listen to the audio work. The current set up is provisional and will be in place until January 2026. In January, the plant boxes and benches will be moved back into its original (centred and wider) shape and layout.
The other two Broad Meadow installations on Merchant Street North and Broadmead West have not been affected and are running as usual.
Thanks for the brilliant support from Bristol City Council’s City Centre Development team, @bristolartsdevelopment and Bristol BID
team @bristolshopping to get the installation back up and running.

We @charliclarkart and @sylviarimat are beyond sad We @charliclarkart and @sylviarimat are beyond sad to find out this morning that our art installation @broadmeadowbristol on Merchant Street North has been considerably damaged. Plant and tree boxed were shoved to one side with a forklift and several benches broken off.
It’s such difficult times for the arts here in the UK at the moment, as eloquently brought forward by @gemma_paintin and @caroline_mary_williams at the Independent Artist Survival Summit event at Bristol Old Vic only a couple of weeks ago and considering the recent news of @mayfestbristol and MAYK in Bristol having had to close down. So this disregard for a public arts project championing urban wildlife, environmental action, wellbeing and community, feels bleak right now.
Thanks to our funders Bristol City Council and WECA and our partners @bristolshopping @maykithappen @pervasivemediastudio and @knowlewestmedia who have supported us on our journey. Broad Meadow installation on Merchant Street North will be back and the other two installations are still running, but this is devastating news.
